Church School |
|
The Church School program provides for
the Christian education of children during the regular school year. Church
School for children age two through children in Grade 7 is available
during Sunday worship. Children begin their weekly education with their
parents in the worship service. They are invited to
come forward for the Children's Message, around 10:20 am, and then proceed
to their classrooms.
Typically, children in Grade 8 are Confirmation students, who meet
during the week with the Minister. Senior High students meet monthly
on a Sunday morning for “Breakfast Instead”, a
topical discussion session concerning teen-relevant issues. Both groups of students also serve as
assistant teachers in Church School or junior ushers for the worship
service.
A Desk Assistant is available at the reception desk to greet visitors to
Church School, answer the phone, and provide younger students with a snack
during class.
Several times during the year, Large Group Instructions (LGI) are
scheduled, typically over holiday weekends. All children are
invited to participate in a special group lesson.
There is no Church School during the summer months. Instead, children are
supervised on the playground or, in case of rain, in the Memorial Room.
Note that child care for infants and
toddlers is available beginning at 9:45 am in the education wing.
Please see the Director of Christian
Education if you would like additional information about the Church School
program.

Money collected
from our Giving Jar helped the “Build a House
Project.”
A new home was built
for the Chavarria family which includes mom, Andrea, dad,
Isidro, and kids, Claudia, Isidro, Kenia and Ricardo.
This
photo shows Andrea, Kenia and Ricardo in the doorway of their
new home.
Thank you all
for your generous gifts! |
Give ear, O my people to
my teaching; incline your ears to the words of my mouth.
I will open my mouth
in a parable; I will utter dark sayings
from of old, things that we have heard and known, that our ancestors have told us. -Psalm 78:1-3 |
