Lay Participation |
|
There are many ways that a lay person can participate in the worship
service. |
|
Greeters
Greeters provide a warm welcome to worshippers as they
enter the Sanctuary on Sunday mornings. Individuals, families and
friends are encouraged to participate. Once each month
during the school year, students from a different church school grade
serve as greeters. Being a greeter is an easy way to become
involved in the life of our church. Please contact the Board of
Deacons for more
information.

|
Ushers
Teams of Ushers greet and distribute bulletins to worshippers as they
enter the sanctuary. They also collect the offering during the
service, and are available to assist anyone with special needs. Usher teams typically serve once every ten weeks. Please contact
the Board of Deacons for more
information.

Choirs and Instrumentalists
Music is a major component of our worship service. See the
Music page for more information about the music
groups.
|
|
Liturgists
The liturgist leads worshippers in responsive readings and prayers,
reads scriptures and assists the minister during the service. They may research Biblical texts in order to help the congregation
understand them better. Liturgists can refer to the web site
textweek.com for lectionary, scripture study and worship links and
resources. Contact the Minister or a member of the Board of
Deacons for more information.

Deacons
Each week, the Host Deacon makes announcements during worship. Each month, typically on the first Sunday, a team from the Board
of Deacons serve communion during worship. See the
Board of Nominations page if you are
interested in joining the Board of Deacons.

|
|
You can also help to beautify the sanctuary ... |
|
See the Altar Flowers
page for information on donating flowers for worship.
|
Each month a team of two people from the Sanctuary Committee
straighten up the pews and make sure they are properly stocked for the
worship service. Please contact the Board of Deacons for more
information.
